Secretary from day 1 of the Association until 1984 when he passed the baton to the late Mrs. Jackie Wong. Then, he moves on to become the Hon. Mr. Lim too has served at the post for 14 years since then. Without the dedication from three of them, CAS may not have lasted until today.

Today, Mr. Lim on behalf of CAS and MCF, had attended his funeral that took placed at Nirwana Shah Alam. Mr. Lim alongside with Mr. Peter Long (life member of CAS) and Mr. Hamid Majid (former Hon. Secretary of MCF who happened to be the successor to Laurence in MCF when he quits chess) had met up at Laurence's House at 9.15am this morning to pay their last respect to him.
