There will be 16 Individual Prizes (Top 15 and Best Girl) and 3 Team Prizes (Best School) to be won in this category. Hence, as many as 28 children will bring back a prize at the end of the day.

No more pre-payment shall be accepted. For those who not yet make payment, you must arrive at the venue between 7.45am and 8.30am.

25th Selangor Juniors Open on 30th March 2014: Update#3 [Players in Reserve List and More Prizes]

As a reminder to parents / teachers / coaches, please take note of the following:

Parents who have pre-registered their children but somehow their children are unable to make it to the event, please send a notification to selangorchess@gmail.com by Saturday, 29^th March 2014 (1pm).

Also, CAS has to rent chess equipments, tables and chairs to cater for the size of event which incurred a huge fixed cost on top of extra manpowers that are needed for the event. Failing to do so, CAS will blacklist your children from future pre-registration process.


CAS has expanded the Under-12 Prizes until 20th placing. On top of that, there will be a Prize for the Best Girl in each category. Also, Silver and Bronze Medals are added to the Best Schools for Under-12 and Under-16 Category. All-in-all, CAS has added prizes for another 24 players.  This means up to 81 players will receive  Prizes and Certificate of Achievements from the Event.

25th Selangor Juniors Open on 30th March 2014: Update#2 [Pre-registration Process Is Closed]

CAS wishes to thank all parents / teachers/ coaches who have registered children for this event. The number of entries have exceeded CAS target and venue capacity. This edition will be creating a new record of entries for the Selangor Juniors, perhaps it may even surpass CAS all time record of 187 pax  1-day BPM Allegro event that took placed at MidValley in early 2000's.

We will announce the list of participants on this Sunday. Children must report to the venue BEFORE 8.30AM on 30th March for payment purpose. The payment counter will be open from 7.45AM on that day. If you have difficulty in arriving on time, please send an email to selangorchess@gmail.com before 25th March for other mode of payment. Player will not be paired for Round 1 if payment is not received by 8.30AM on 30th March.

As a reminder to parents / teachers / coaches, please take note of the following:

This will give a chance to other players in the Reserve List to play in the last National-rated event before new rating release for the use in National Age-Group in April 2014. Failing to do so, CAS will blacklist your children from future pre-registration process.

Meanwhile, any name that send in from now onwards shall be placed into the Reserve list. The players in the Reserve shall be notified on the availability of seats latest by 28th March (Fri).

For children who yet to secure a place in this event, you may want to consider joining Klang Parade Age-Group on 5th Apr 2014 (Saturday) - A national-rated Event. This event is limited to 100 seats. The details of this event will be published in the next post.
