MCC 2016: Players from Selangor

CAS has received a total of 11 Selangor entries for Malaysian Chess Championship 2016 to be held from 15th to 20th March. Malaysian Chess Championship is the qualifying event into Malaysian Masters that is scheduled from 20th to 26th April in Kuala Lumpur. The Champion of the Malaysian Masters shall be awarded the titled "Malaysian Champion".

NAG 2016: Registration for Selangorians

The National Age-Group Chess Championships 2016 will be held at Chancellor Hall, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Bandar Seri Iskandar, Tronoh, Perak from 12th March (Saturday) to 14th March (Monday). Every participant shall be given a copy of Certificate of Participation by MCF.

 

Children (Malaysians only) who are schooling in Selangor can register via the Chess Association of Selangor to enjoy a cheaper entry fee of RM50 as opposed to RM100. Children who are Schooling in KL but born / stay in Selangor, please register via KL Chess Association UNLESS you have given up / willing to give up the right to represent KL this year.  

The Registration Procedure

1. Fill-up the NAG Entry Form (Page 3), Signed on It and Snap a photo / Scan It

 

2. Fill-up the Selangor Player Registration Form, Signed on It and Snap a photo / Scan It

[Once the player signed on the Player's Registration Form, the Player can represent only the agreed state for the Calendar Year. This means the player cannot represent other state in MCF national-level rated events e.g. Merdeka Team Championship, Inter-State Team Championship, MSSM and etc in the same Calendar Year. This is a MCF requirement since 2013 to avoid other state from buying players by offering more incentives or prevent players from state-hopping.] 

3. To facilitate a speedy payment processes to MCF and not interfere with CAS account, you bank-in RM50/pax into Maybank Acc: 112223186563 (Lim Tse Pin). Mr Lim will transfer your payment into MCF account. Scan the bank-in Slip / Capture a screenshot / M2U pdf file. Last day for payment: 25TH FEBRUARY 2016 (THURSDAY)
[Take note: For bulk registration, payment for all children must be done in ONE TRANSACTION for easy reference. Don't bank-in directly into MCF account - The account is provided for people who want to pay RM100 as a direct entry].

 

4. Email all two documents to selangorchess@gmail.com latest by 25TH FEBRUARY 2016 (THURSDAY).


CAS will not entertain any NAG registration after 25TH FEBRUARY 2016.

Application Results for Selangor Representatives to Malaysian Chess Championships 2016

The Malaysian Chess Championship is scheduled from 16th March to 20th March 2016 at Dewan University College Sabah Foundation, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

After 1 week of advertising, there are 5 applications for Men and 6 applications for Women. In order to fulfil the state criteria, the applicant must fulfil at least one of the followings:- 
(I) Born in the state, (II) Residing in the state, (III) Working / Studying in the state

Upon fulfilling the criteria listed above and agree to represent the state, the player will sign the Player's Registration Form which means the Player can only represent on the agreed state for the Calendar Year. This means the player cannot represent other state in MCF national-level rated events e.g. Merdeka Team Championship, Inter-State Team Championship, MSSM and etc in the same Calendar Year. The Malaysian Chess Championship 2016 - Selection for Selangor Representatives [Please write in]

The Malaysian Chess Championship is scheduled from 16th March to 20th March 2016 at Dewan University College Sabah Foundation, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Each State is allowed to send 2 Official Players (fulfilling min national rating /FIDE rating criteria) and 4 Wild Card Players (need not fulfil rating criteria) which is treated as Extra State Player for both Men and Women Category. Each State can also send as many Extra State players as long as they fulfil the rating criteria.
 
The criteria for Official Player and Extra State Players (except Wild Card Player) as follows:-
Men Qualification       : A minimum rating level of either NR 1650 OR FIDE 1800
Women Qualification : A minimum rating level of either NR 1400 OR FIDE 1550

CAS will extend invitation to (2 Men and 2 Women) highest national-rated players who write-in to represent Selangor as Official Player for both Men and Women Category. CAS will pay the Registration fee, and provide 5 nights Accommodation on twin-sharing basis with daily allowance to all Official Players. The Official Player needs to pay their own flight ticket. Please write-in to selangorchess@gmail.com with (Name and H/p Number) by 5th February for selection purposes. The result of the selection will be published on this website on 7th February. The selected players must provide a copy of flight ticket itinerary to CAS by 15th February.
 
For the Wild Card Slots, CAS awards the slots (4 Men and 4 Women) to the highest national-rated players (who did not fulfil National Rating Jan 2016 release or FIDE Rating Feb 2016 release minimum rating set by MCF). Please email to selangorchess@gmail.com with (Name and H/p Number) by 5th February for selection purposes. The result of the selection will be published on this website on 7th February. The selected players must pay the registration fee i.e. RM150 each to CAS by 15th February and make own arrangement to purchase the flight ticket and accommodation.

For any other player who has qualified the rating criteria and would like to join, please write-in to CAS (selangorchess@gmail.com) by 15th February. The player must pay the registration fee i.e. RM150 to CAS by 20th February and make own arrangement to purchase the flight ticket and accommodation. (Take note that the Registration fee for Direct registration with MCF without going through State Association is RM250.)
 
Lastly, Selangor Players who have qualified under MCF MERIT PERFORMANCES must write-in to CAS (selangorchess@gmail.com) by 5th February for us to place you among the Official Players Selection List. The result of the selection will be published on this website on 7th February. If you aren't chosen as the Official Representative but still want to take part in this Championship, CAS will be glad to pay for your registration fee. You need make own arrangement to book hotel and purchase the flight ticket. You must provide a copy of flight ticket itinerary to CAS by 15th February.

CAS Main Committee 2015/2016

Main Committee of The Chess Association of Selangor for the year 2015/2016 was elected today. We look forward to bringing chess to the next higher level for the current term in Selangor, with En Daniel Yong (Seated left) at the helm and En Ahmad Shafruddin Arshad  (seated right) assisting him as Vice President. En Lim Tse Pin remains as Hon Secretary, En Fariz Shafruddin as Treasurer and En Mat Zaki Yeop as Committee Member.

En Daniel Yong thanked the past Committee for contributing to the fine performance of CAS and was confident that the new line-up would continue to propel CAS to an even greater height in the current term and the years to come
